Tis the season for gift giving. I think I see our delivery guys more in the month of December than the entire year. Online shopping has become so easy with a click from your sofa your entire list can be complete in about an hour or two.  However, this is also the season where the riff raff are lurking around to help themselves to your deliveries.

Having a home security system has no longer become a option but a necessity.  We recently received the wireless Swann Smart Security Camera and we are very impressed.  Setup was so easy I did it myself.  Yep, I am a girl with a power tool and I know how to use it. Especially considering I was equipped with a drill template! Yes, now you believe I installed the camera myself.

Before I began setup I placed the camera itself on the charger.  A full charge takes about 6 hours using a USB cable, via the port on the back.  With the base installed in less than 5 minutes, I had time to do other things while waiting for the battery to charge. Next I downloaded via the apple store the Safe Swan app, setup a new account and connected to my WiFi network. What to do now? SHOP of course! Now that I know my items will safely stay put on my stoop (New York word) aka front steps.

I recently watched a video via a facebook group where a gentleman (for lack of a better word), walked into someones yard with a big black garbage bag and swooped up the owners packages.  Walking away with a big black bag no one on the street was the wiser.  The Swann Smart Security Camera gives me solace knowing I will be alerted and receive push notifications of activity.  The Swann Smart Security Camera’s heat based PIR motion detection reliably captures & records activity, with fewer false activities.  This is great because honestly I don’t need to receive an alert with every car passing. Although if I was interested in the comings and goings of the neighbors vehicles the Full HD feature allows me to see license plates, faces etc with a 1080p full HD video and wide 120 degree viewing angle during the day and night.

Even though packages go missing, and some may want to keep up with the neighbors activities, (not this mom) the reality is I need the security to keep my family safe.  Since the camera is completely wire free we have the luxury of flexibility and where we place it. So the camera can stay at the front door allowing me to view who is approaching or I can move it to the back deck to watch the kids outdoors.

The Swann Security camera allows my children to go out into the yard and play without me being the hovering parent. In their minds they are getting the freedom they crave to be kids and run wild.  Um, yeah not so much, mama is watching and listening to everything via the Safe by Swann app while washing dishes. So when they start arguing you basically already know who is at fault! Additional Mom Win.  The Swann Security Camera is also weather proof, so if the kids are playing basketball or creating a snowman I am sure to see it all.

The Swann Security camera is also helping me as I prep for Santa’s arrival.  Alerting me when the little and big have jumped out of their beds. It sure is funny to see how fast you remove the Santa hat and switch to mom mode.
